Solution - There is a faulty chip - nothing reset can do. Recheck your cabling and PSU. Enter the reset password and enter your new one twice. I need to get an actual reset done on it. Have to be able to get into the web interface first. Need to manage a reset first so that it restores the Ethernet to factory default. According to this blog you should access the reset switch next to the RJ45 socket. In my experience with other kinds of hardware, it reset to be patient.
On my S3, as with the one in the picture, the button below the pin hole is sort of off-target, so make sure you actually hit the button and hold it for 10 seconds or more until the red LED flashes.
